Undergraduate Research Expectations

If you apply for an undergraduate research assistantship and your proposed project is funded, you are expected to:

  • Maintain high academic standards (cumulative 2.75 GPA)
  • Complete Responsible Conduct of Research training
  • Demonstrate research progress by meeting benchmarks over the term(s) of the award
  • Participate in at least two Skill-Building Seminars during the award term
  • Present a poster at either the Nebraska Summer Research Symposium in August (Summer award) or the UNL Spring Research Fair in April (Academic Year award)
Faculty advisors are asked to provide feedback on your research progress throughout the course of the award term. Failure to meet any of the above expectations may result in termination of your UCARE funding.
